Who I Am

My name is Bobby Callaway, and I’m the photographer behind Callaway Images.

Before picking up a camera professionally, I spent 10 years serving in the U.S. Navy, with assignments aboard three aircraft carriers — USS Nimitz, USS Abraham Lincoln, and USS Carl Vinson. I later earned both my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from UNC‑Greensboro and spent more than 20 years working in the IT industry, from Network Systems Engineer to Project Manager.

Those experiences shaped how I approach photography today.

The same mindset required to operate in high‑pressure environments is what I bring to every photo day, every edit, and every final image we deliver.

What We Do

Callaway Images specializes in youth and school sports photography, senior banners, and creative sports portraits throughout the Triad region of North Carolina.

Each year, we photograph 350–400 youth league teams along with multiple middle schools and high schools. Our workflow is intentionally different from traditional volume photography:

Every athlete can be photographed individually
Team photos are professionally assembled from individual images
Backgrounds are sports‑specific, custom‑designed, and updated every year
School colors and logos are incorporated for a polished, professional look

This approach ensures consistent quality, flexibility for makeup days, and images that truly stand out.
